Description
This two-day ILT Series Web Site Design class is designed for the student who wants to design attractive, informative, and usable Web pages. The target student for this course has already created simple Web pages that include text, hyperlinks, and graphics. Students will learn principles of user-focused design for the Web. In addition, they will learn to create a site specification and build a relative file structure.
Students will also learn to build navigation schemes, enhance page design using tables and Cascading Style Sheets, use different image file formats and size graphics, and the benefits and drawbacks of frames-based site designs. Finally, students will learn to choose an Internet Service Provider, use FTP to publish, plan for usability testing, and enhance search engine listings for a Web site.
Prerequisites
• Windows XP: Basic or Windows Vista: Basic
• HTML 4.0: Basic-Advanced
• Previous experience with Internet Explorer or another web browser is recommended
